SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement issued in Akure and made accessible to newsmen on Monday.

Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya alleged that the deceased was macheted to death at the state’s Ifeloduro Camp Forest Reserve.

The incident occurred about 1720hrs on April 22nd, according to the command’s spokeswoman.

Before killing Olorunfemi, the intruders allegedly collected all of the phones belonging to other farmers in the camp.

“Four men came to the camp and collected their phones, as well as macheted one Olaoluwa Olorunfemi, 50, all over his body, and he died on the spot.”

“The police, in the company of the deceased family, visited the scene of the crime, and his corpse was evacuated and deposited in the morgue,” PPRO added.
