On Wednesday, a 100-level student at Kwara College of Education in Ilorin collapsed and died while getting lectures.

Mrs Abibat Zubair, the college’s spokesman, confirmed the student’s tragic death on Thursday, saying she was preparing for a semester exam when she died.

The student was said to have fallen while collecting her matriculation gown on Wednesday in preparation for Thursday’s ceremony.

She was taken to Ilorin General Hospital but was confirmed dead upon arrival.

According to Zubair, the lady was remembered during the matriculation on Thursday.

She went on to say that the school’s administration had previously paid a condolence visit to the deceased’s relatives.

The student was afterwards buried according to Islamic rites. (NAN)
