Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known as Vector, have announced that ten new artists would appear in the remix to their tune “Mr Yakubu,” which satirizes Nigeria’s general elections in 2023.

The presidential election has been dogged by questions over the process’s legality, with Bola Tinubu emerging as the victor, causing the two main opposition parties, the People’s Democratic Party and the Labour Party, to file a legal challenge.

Falz, who has been a vocal critic of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) conduct throughout previous elections, especially the presidential race, announced the news on his Instagram page, saying only ten persons were shortlisted out of “too many dope” entries.

“We initially announced that there would be 3 winners from the challenge,” Falz posted on Saturday night. “We later realised that was an underestimate. There are tooooo many dope entries that we cannot ignore, so we decided to stretch that number to 10! Even this was toughhhh.”

He went on to say that all of the finalists, including Monaqueen, Fozter, Retired Madman, Dangelika Belle, Majest Lyn K, Only Jibrille, DBoss Anike, Thepdstrn, Priesst, and Enochsings, would be featured on the ‘Mr Yakubu’ remix.

“All winners be featured on the extended remix version of #MrYakubu – one of the tracks on the Falz x VEC collab project dropping in a bit!,” the statement added.

Falz mimicked a Peoples Gazette exclusive that revealed arrangements for a covert meeting between President-elect Bola Tinubu and Chief Justice Kayode Ariwoola in London in the video for the original tune.

He went on to claim that the ‘Mr Yakubu’ remix would feature all of the finalists, including Monaqueen, Fozter, Retired Madman, Dangelika Belle, Majest Lyn K, Only Jibrille, DBoss Anike, Thepdstrn, Priesst, and Enochsings.
