Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has begun counting down the days before President Muhammadu Buhari’s term expires.

President Bubari, who was elected in 2015, is set to pass over the presidency to President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023, just a few weeks away.

Excited by the news, Adesina wrote in an essay headlined “THE FINAL GALLOP HOME” that he was looking forward to returning home to rest after serving his country for eight years.

According to him, some of his presidential colleagues, including himself, had never served in any government before and had no ambitions to do so but out of love for Nigeria and Buhari.

“Home is that place you go to rest after the labor and toil of the day,” he added. It is there that you find solace and relaxation after the ups and downs of your everyday activities. It’s no surprise that people say “home, sweet home.” A horrible home should not exist. Even worse than hell.

“We’ll be home in about 44 days.” Who exactly are the ‘we?’ Those of us who work alongside President Muhammadu Buhari, whose second term ends on May 29, this year.

“We had never served in government and didn’t want to, but we did it for the love of country and that honest man from Daura.” It’s time to go home now. Happily”.

Adesina stated that he has been meticulously combing through his office in preparation for his departure on May 29.
