According to the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), the government plans to complete the registration of unemployed people in Lagos State on April 28, 2023.

On Monday, April 17, the FG launched the NDE to register unemployed people in Lagos State’s 20 local government areas.

The NDE state office in Lagos revealed the news and verified that the exercise will conclude on Friday, April 28 at the directorate’s office located at 7, Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba, and the state’s 20 local government areas.

“The Lagos State NDE office has begun the registration of unemployed persons in the state’s 20 local government areas,” stated Serena Edward, the Lagos State NDE office Coordinator.

“State registration began on Monday, April 17, and will conclude on April 28, 2023.” The registration will take place at the NDE state headquarters at 7, Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba, and the state’s 20 local government districts.”

Edward also asked the unemployed residents of Lagos State to take advantage of this opportunity by registering with their allocated local governments in order to benefit from the program.

According to her, this is because the federal government wants thorough data on the country’s unemployed in order to develop appropriate plans for them.

The exercise began on April 17 in Abia State and will conclude on May 5, 2023.

Tessy Wachuku, the Acting Coordinator of NDE in Abia, stated in a statement that the registration procedure would take place in all local government areas across the state.

Wachuku added that the NDE liaison officers in Abia’s 17 LGAs will carry out the registration, and that centers had already been established in the communities to collect unemployed people in remote regions.

She stated that the NDE Abia secretariat in Old Umuahia, Umuahia South LGA, will function as the registration point for individuals living in Umuahia and its neighboring areas.
