Gunmen kidnap Plateau’s traditional ruler

Suspected gunmen have kidnapped Plateau State’s traditional ruler from his residence.

His Royal Highness Sunday Dajep, the abducted monarch, is the district head of Chip, a community populated by the Mhiship ethnic group in the state’s Pankshin Local Government Area.

According to the Daily Trust, the district head was abducted around 11 p.m. on Wednesday when gunmen stormed his palace in Chip community along the Mangu-Shendam road.

DSP Alfred Alabo, the state command’s spokesperson, confirmed the adoption.

“Men of the command have been on the trail of the gunmen,” Alubo said. We launched a manhunt for the gunmen as soon as we got the distress call.”
