Professor Onje Gye-Wado, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, has been released four days after he was kidnapped.
On Thursday, gunmen abducted Gye-Wado from Rinza village in the state’s Wamba Local Government Area. His adductors sought N70 million to free him.
DSP Ramham Nansel, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, verified this to reporters on Monday morning.
“Due to sustained pressure from the search and rescue team, he was released around 9 p.m. yesterday (Sunday).” “There was no ransom paid,” he stated.
