Investigations have exposed how the Delta State Government through the office Deputy Governor who is in charge of Chieftaincy Affairs that there was a by the government with in collaboration with certain vested interest to destroy the custom and tradition of Aboh Kingdom.
However, the state governor was kept in the dark as the manipulation was ongoing.
One of the steps taken by the government which has thrown the kingdom into Chieftaincy crisis was the suspension of Oduah, a respected and custodian of Aboh tradition.
The suspension culminated in their desperate bid to truncate the due process in the selection of Obi of Aboh.
History revealed that Aboh Kingmakers do not choose kings. However it is the responsibility of Umudei Ruling Houses to chose one of their own and present to the Kingmakers which will in turn take the candidate to the Oduah for chalking.
But, to the great amazement of the people of the kingdom, the Office of the Chietaincy Affairs allegedly connived with some persons in the government making desperate attempts to rewrite the history of Aboh Kingdom on selection of Kings which is contrary to the Custom and tradition of the kingdom.
Surprisingly, the government and its cronies decided to disregard petitions and consequent court orders.
Also among the genesis of the crisis was that Ojingwu’s role was suspended as the ‘Ofor Ndi Eze’.
Also a forged document on Aboh traditional ruler ascension sent to the Deputy Governor’s office was forged.
It was discovered that an earlier document signed and thump printed by Oduah did not contain the Iyesele Onowu name and signature.
It was also discovered that the Directorate of Chieftaincy Affairs stamped dutied document which was considered a legal error because it aught to be Oduah as the originator.
It was noticed that some of the aspirants were avail of the document a day before the commencement of the process which is intended by the authors to disqualify some aspirants deliberately.
