JUST IN: Kaduna enforces a 24-hour curfew in Chikun Local Government

The Kaduna State Government has placed an immediate 24-hour curfew on the Sabon Garin Nassarawa – Tirkaniya area of the state’s Chikun Local Government Area.

According to the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the decision was made in response to a breakdown in law and order that resulted in the deaths of two citizens in an instance of urban gang violence.

“The Kaduna state government hereby announces the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on Sabon Garin Nassarawa-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA,” he said.

“This decision was reached following a breakdown in law and order, which resulted in the killing of two citizens in an incident of urban gang violence.”

“Security agencies have been directed to enforce the curfew in the aforementioned location in order to restore order while investigations continue.” Citizens are urged to rigorously enforce the curfew in this location, which goes into effect immediately.
