Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, talked on Sunday about President-elect Bola Tinubu appointing non-members of the party to his cabinet.

In an interview with Punch, Keyamo stated that he cannot confirm or deny if Tinubu will add non-party members to his cabinet.

According to Keyamo, Tinubu has the authority to choose who he appoints.

“I cannot confirm or deny it,” he replied. When the President-elect stated that he would seek competency, it was believed that he would look far and wide for capable people. But I can’t confirm or refute it directly or definitively. It is entirely the President-elect’s prerogative.”

Speaking on how the ruling APC’s leadership would react if Tinubu eventually picks people outside the party, Keyamo stated that it is entirely up to the President-elect.

He went on to say that the subject of Tinubu appointing persons who are not APC members is speculative, and he cannot speculate at this time.

“As I said, these are matters of conjecture, and I cannot engage in conjecture at this time,” Keyamo said. It is entirely at the President-elect’s decision. That is how I wish to leave it.”
