Liverpool smashed Leeds United at home for the second time in a row to secure their first league victory in five games.

Cody Gakpo scored the game’s opening goal in the 35th minute to give Liverpool the lead at Elland Road.

Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal of the game and the final goal of the first half two minutes later.

Leeds United were given hope of a comeback in the second half when Luis Sinisterra brilliantly chipped the ball past Alisson after dispossessing Ibrahima Konate.

Jota, a forward from Portugal, scored his first goal for Liverpool since April 2022 in the 52nd minute.

After having a goal disallowed for offside, Salah scored the game-winning goal at the end of a magnificent sequence. Later, Jota scored again from Jordan Henderson’s cross, and in the 90th minute, replacement Darwin Nunez made it 6-1 in favor of the visitors.

Following a poor start, they defeated Leeds 6-1. It is the club’s first win since a 7-0 thumping of Manchester United in early March.

Luis Diaz made his first appearance since October on a successful night for the visitors, coming on as a late replacement.

Liverpool remains in eighth place on the Premier League table, two points behind seventh-placed Brighton.
