After allegedly “setting himself on fire” in front of an American embassy, a man was taken to the hospital right afterwards.
Updates from outside the American embassy in Copenhagen’s sterbro neighborhood described a man who had lit himself on fire in front of the structure while still being conscious.
With the fire out and the man still alive after the explosion of flames that engulfed Dag Hammarskjölds Allé in the Danish capital, his spectacular prank seemed to have come to an end.
Police have subsequently confirmed the event in a statement, adding that the 18-year-old male who set himself on fire is now recovering in a hospital.
Copenhagen Police tweeted an update on the fire, saying: “The male is receiving treatment at Rigshospitalet. He has not been accused of a recent offense.
Earlier today, April 21, ambulance and fire services were dispatched to the scene.
The individual was reportedly on fire and conscious when emergency personnel arrived on the scene of the blaze.
He was promptly extinguished and taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving care for what are believed to be burns and injuries.
Police say the 18-year-old has not yet been charged with a crime, but the flamboyant youngster’s motivation has not yet been made public.
Police haven’t uncovered many specifics about the fire, but they have confirmed that the Embassy itself reported the incident to emergency services.
According to reports, the unidentified man’s condition is not life-threatening.
