Lisandro Martinez, a Manchester United defender, announced that he had successfully had surgery after being declared out for the rest of the season due to a fractured metatarsal bone.
Martinez, who has 45 appearances for United in all competitions this season, was helped off the field during the 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Europa League.
Martinez stated on Instagram that the operation “went really well” and that he was now focusing on rehabilitation.
The 25-year-old’s injury comes as United try to finish third in the Premier League and win the Europa League and FA Cup.
