Chelsea, an English Premier League team, is set to lose one of its key midfielders, Mason Mount, after the 24-year-old reportedly agreed to join Bayern Munich.
Mount’s present contract with Chelsea is set to expire in the summer of 2024, according to Naija News. The English professional player, on the other hand, is said to be interested in reuniting with his previous coach, Thomas Tuchel, at Bayern Munich.

Tuchel was appointed head coach of German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich just a week ago.

The former Chelsea manager and German professional football manager took over for Julian Nagelsmann, who was allegedly fired just minutes before the news of Tuchel’s appointment went viral.

Bayern Munich is also said to be interested in getting Mount to the Bundesliga. Mount, on the other hand, has shown no interest in renewing his contract with Chelsea.

According to Naija News, Chelsea has spent over £600 million since the summer, and the Blues are said to be under significant Financial Fair Play strain. Mount may thus be released in order to prevent a breach.

Though Mount has been linked with a move to Liverpool, The Guardian claimed that the Englishman is ‘interested’ in reuniting with Tuchel at Bayern Munich this summer.

Chelsea is thought to be asking £70 million for the England star, who has been named Chelsea’s Player of the Year for the last two seasons.

Mount recently acknowledged that he would not meet his targets at Chelsea this summer.
