A group of bandits abducted no less than 80 children from Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area on Friday morning.

It was stated that the children, aged 12 to 17, were in the bush getting firewood around 8:00 a.m. when the robbers rounded them up and carried them away into the forest.

The abducted children’s parents, who spoke to BBC Hausa, expressed their shock and sadness at the tragedy.

They indicated that, as of the time of reporting, the robbers had not yet approached them with any demands.
