John Kennedy Kanu, better known online as Bros Jay Kay, was killed in a car accident.

On Monday, a car crashed on the Rumuodara East-West Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Nelson Desmond, an event curator, expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family on Facebook.

He said he learned of the comedian’s demise in the early hours of Monday.

“Looking at your achievements and how far you’ve come in the entertainment business keeps me going. It’s so sad to hear of your sudden demise in the early hours of this morning,” he wrote.

“I pray God gives your mom and kid brothers the strength to bear this loss. Rest in peace John Kennedy.”

Desmond said the actor had escaped a car crash in 2022, but “it didn’t spare you again.”

When word of his death spread, tributes to him began to stream in on social media.

Prior to his death, Brother Jay Kay was well-known for his amusing short films on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

On Facebook, he has almost two million fans, and on Instagram, he has 21000 followers.

The comedian also ran Reelwood, a social e-ticketing network that allows people to buy tickets to live events and concerts.
