UPDATED: Anthony Joshua wins a unanimous decision over Franklin

On Saturday night, Anthony Joshua defeated Jermaine Franklin by unanimous decision at the O2 Arena in London, a significant victory for the former champion’s future prospects.

After suffering a heartbreaking defeat in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk last year, former champion Anthony Joshua was searching for his first victory since 2020 when he faced Jermaine Franklin in London.

He needed to win against the tough American and won by unanimous decision, 118-111 twice.

Franklin is a tough American heavyweight who has only lost one of his 22 professional fights, a close majority decision loss to Dillian Whyte in November.

According to SkySports, despite this was Joshua’s first fight without at least one world title on the line in seven years, it was still one of his most important.
The outcome would influence his career’s future path.

He gained the victory by dominating the fight overall.
Nevertheless, despite landing hard blows, the opportunity to make a statement and drop or stop Franklin eluded him.

Clinches marred parts of the battle, and the fight ended with further tense scenes as Franklin’s camp rushed at Joshua, forcing the two boxers to be separated.

AJ believes he’s ready to fight Tyson Fury after defeating Franklin
