The 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination was launched nationwide on Tuesday by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

According to data acquired from the examination organization, over 1.6 million candidates from over 700 centers are expected to take the examination, which will conclude on May 12,2023 to allow for registration for the Direct Entry examinations.

In Lagos, FTN saw applicants being checked in at various locations, including the West African Examination Council Centres in Agindingbi and Ogba, as well as others in Ikeja and surrounding areas. There were no major hiccups during the process.

However, some candidates who talked with our correspondent stated that they faced issues throughout the verification process; officials on the ground stated that all issues will be rectified.

Journalists who visited certain centers in Ilorin, Kwara State’s capital, saw applicants being checked into test halls using Biometric Verification Machines.

Remember that the exam was originally slated to begin on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

According to an earlier announcement by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the modification in the date of the UTME was made to accommodate some other vital and critical national responsibilities.
