A 24-year-old woman was struck in the clitoris by a stray bullet while sitting in her living room.

While sitting in her living room, a woman was inadvertently shot in the clitoris.

The 24-year-old Somalian woman was brought to the hospital in extreme pain after a 2cm stray bullet pierced her ceiling in her living room.

CT scans revealed that the bullet had become lodged inside her clitoris after being shot into her vulva, necessitating surgery to securely remove it.

Doctors believe this is the first example of its kind.

“To the best of our knowledge, this case is unique due to the bullet being retained in the clitoris,” they added.

The date of the occurrence was not disclosed in the case report written by medics at Erdoan Hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital.

The woman told the obstetrics and gynecology staff that she was seated in her lounge when the stray gunshot dropped through the roof.

Pelvic tests revealed where the bullet had penetrated the clitoris, and CT scans confirmed the bullet’s location.

The bullet was then extracted from the clitoris using local anesthesia.

The woman was discharged home the next day “in good condition,” according to medics.

A month later, follow-up appointments confirmed that there had been no further difficulties.

Non-obstetric vulva trauma, which occurs when the vulva is not pregnant, is an incredibly unusual event, according to the doctors.
