According to Mr. Chinedu Ugboaku Agha, Son of the Oduah who witnessed the incident, Charles Ogbuotobo aka Big Charlie led Dr. Greg Oputa, who is one of the Aspirants, High Chief Esumei Olisa (Ndanike), Prince Mike Oputa, High Chief Kenneth Odili (Ozaeh), his brother, Ikechukwu Odili, Chief Chuka Obi (Izomo), Chief Ifeanyi Boknor (Ojingu),

They allegedly forced their way into a room where the Oduah was lying down. The document identifies Chief Chuka Obi (Izomo) as having raised the Oduah from the bed at gunpoint and using his hand to “chalk” Dr. Greg Oputa, effectively attempting to bestow kingship upon him. This act has been described as an abominable violation of Aboh customs and traditions.

In response, the Oduah Representatives and the Aboh Traditional Council have vehemently distanced themselves from this act, condemning it as “shameful and abominable.” They reiterated that there is a process of selecting an Obi and it must strictly be followed, and any deviation is a direct affront to the kingdom’s heritage. The document called upon all indigenes of Aboh to remain calm, urging them not to succumb to provocations.
