Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, alias Ayra Starr, a popular Nigerian performer, has revealed why she flopped at a live performance a few months ago.

Remember how, a few months ago, the Mavin record signee received harsh criticism for being a lousy vocalist when footage of her playing live went viral on the internet?

Ayra Starr, appearing on the newest episode of Joey Akan’s Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, stated she was going through a lot at the time.

According to the diva, she struggled to sing for two months but persisted in performing.
Arya revealed that she wasn’t taking good care of her voice at the time.

She said, “I think for me I was not properly taking care of my voice. I was not doing vocal warm ups at all.

“Sometimes I’m not even talking at all, then I’m just on stage and I’m shouting and singing. I couldn’t properly sing for like two months. And I was performing everyday still with that voice.

“So, people literally were like, Ayra cannot sing. I’m like, it is not as if I can not sing o, I’m going through a lot.”
