The Independent National Electoral Commission has summoned the Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Hudu Yunusa, to discuss the election results announced on Saturday.
The commission announced this on Twitter on Sunday.
It was remarked that the process had definitely not been completed prior to his statement.
“The Commission’s attention has been drawn to the Resident Electoral Commissioner’s (REC) purported declaration of winner in the Adamawa Governorship election, despite the fact that the process has clearly not been completed.”
“The REC’s action is an infringement on the Returning Officer’s authority.” It is null and void, and has no impact. As a result, the collation of supplemental election results is hereby halted.
“The Returning Officer, the REC, and all parties involved are hereby summoned to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja immediately.” A more detailed statement will be issued shortly.”
