President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences for Hajiya Ladi Bako’s passing alongside the family of Audu Bako, the late military governor of the former Kano State, as well as the governments and residents of Kano and Jigawa.

The late Bako’s wife was named Hajiya Ladi.

The president expressed his thoughts in a statement delivered on Thursday in Abuja by Malam Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

As a tribute, Buhari referred to the late governor’s wife as one of the most influential women in politics at the time.

He said: “The late Hajiya Ladi was a great lady. She defined an era and will always be remembered for her faithfulness to her family and the Kano community. ’May Allah give courage and perseverance to those she left behind to bear this irreparable loss.”
