Adamu Hayatu, a Twitter user, recounted how they gathered two million naira cash to pay as ransom to kidnappers in order to free his cousin during the cash scarcity.
“We had to source for N1m mints and N1m old notes to get my cousin out during the peak of the naira confiscation crisis,” Adamu Hayatu countered. This notion of cashless prevented kidnapped, gladly yen yen yen.”
