President Muhammadu Buhari has cordially congratulated former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who turned 71 on Tuesday.
Buhari praised Oshiomhole’s courage in advocating reforms and sticking up for the people’s welfare.
He congratulated the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his dedication to development and democracy, having championed the cause of workers for eight years as President of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) prior to entering politics.
This was revealed in a statement by Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina.
As Oshiomhole approaches the age of 71, Buhari believes that “Nigeria owes the former NLC president a debt of gratitude” for always drawing attention to the plight of workers and battling to ensure that policies reflect the reality of those on the bottom rung of the economic and political ladder.
President Buhari sends his best wishes to Oshiomole and his family.
