After exhaustive deliberation by the elders of Aboh Kingdom, they have unanimously agreed that the respected stool of Obi Aboh remains vacant.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting on Sunday September 29, 2024, none of the candidates vying for the vacant stool of Obi of Aboh has been formally chosen, chalked or crowned by the Oduah as Obi Aboh Kingdom.
Therefore, no other person has absolute right and responsibility of Chalking and crowning the Obi in line with Aboh custom and tradition passed down from generations governing the selection, crowning of an Obi.
The elders said in a communique that the event of September 11/09/2024 and the Chalk and crowning is a serious violation and abomination and thus condemned the irresponsible and abominable act of Greg Oputa.
They also said he should stop parading himself as the Revered Obuonwe of Aboh Kingdom.
The elders said that many abominations committed by Greg Oputa following his desperation to become the Obi of Aboh have been well noted and would be visited at the appropriate time according to Aboh custom and tradition.
Thus the Revered stool of Aboh remains vacant.
“The Aboh Kingdom remains united under the leadership of Oduah Thomas Ugboaku Agha and any attempts to divide the kingdom or unlawful seizure of the throne of Obi of Aboh against the established protocols, customs and tradition will not be tolerated at all.
The elders expressed gratitude to the efforts of the Delta State Government in his determination to resolve the matter through the office of Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
