On Thursday, a tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) crashed and killed ten people in the Bauchi Road junction region of Plateau’s Jos North Local Government region.

DSP Alfred Alabo, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated this in a statement on Thursday in Jos.

According to Alabo, the truck lost control and crashed, engulfing three other vehicles and two tricycles at the site.

“We received information this afternoon from a good Samaritan that a tanker transporting PMS lost control, crashed, and burst into flames along Bauchi Road Junction.”

“The state’s Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, directed the Angwan Rogo Divisional Police Officer and his team of detectives to rush to the scene of the accident.”

“Upon arrival, it was discovered that ten unidentified people had been burnt beyond recognition.” Their lifeless remains were eventually sent to Plateau Specialist Hospital in Jos.

“Three other vehicles and two tricycles were also affected by the fire,” he explained.

The PPRO stated that attempts were being made to remove roadblocks in order to allow free passage of vehicles and to determine the true identity of the charred bodies.
