Senator Shehu Sani has described fans of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi as more peaceful than supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The judgment was delivered by the former Kaduna Central lawmaker on Twitter on Wednesday.

According to Sani, what Peter Obi fans are doing in 2023 is more peaceful than what President Buhari supporters did in 2011.

Regardless of his argument, he cautioned that situations or actions that could lead to anarchy should not be encouraged.

“NO patriot should incite or encourage anarchy, but we must also avoid’shortening our memories’; what Peter’s supporters are doing in 2023 is more peaceful than what Buhari’s supporters did in 2011.” “All you need to do is remember the past to appreciate the present,” Sani wrote on Twitter.

Recall that the Nigerian government, through the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, recently accused and warned Obi of inciting Nigerians to violence over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election during a meeting with some international media organizations in Washington, USA.

According to Mohammed, Obi is wrong to seek legal redress over the result of the presidential election while also inciting people to violence.

However, in response, Obi denied the Minister’s accusations of inciting people against the Nigerian state or encouraging anyone to undermine Nigeria.
