Driving a relentless campaign machinery, the South-South People’s United Forum of the All Progressives Congress (SSPUF APC) is in the forefront of canvassing votes to return incumbent Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to office for a second and final four-year term.
Ahead of the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections holding Saturday, March 18, 2023, apart from vigorously campaigning for Sanwo-Olu’s re-election in a most peaceful manner, the SSPUF APC is extending the same unfettered goodwill to the APC candidates for the state legislature.
The SSPUF APC had done the same during the Saturday, February 25, 2023, Presidential and National Assembly elections, garnering votes for the APC candidates and the eventual victory emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and those of the various National Assembly members, either as Senator-elect or Representatives-elect.
At the heart of the relentless campaign of persons of South-South Nigeria extraction for the APC’s run of victories in the 2023 General Elections is the Coordinator, SSPUF APC Lagos Central Senatorial District, Hon. Gibraltar Njowusi, who has made it crystal clear that he is refusing to rest on his oars or allow others to flag on theirs.
Njowusi has declared that “Project All-About APC All-The-Way” is at the heart of it all, with the critical components of it as follows: successful presidential campaign and electoral victory for the party’s candidate; successful National Assembly campaigns and victories for the party’s candidates; as well as successful campaigns and victories for the governorship and state assembly candidates.
In a statement on Wednesday in Apapa, Lagos State, through the Media Adviser, Mr. Obiajulu Agu, Njowusi said: “Yes, we achieved that goal of securing the needed votes to put the best available candidate among the lot, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, legitimately into the Office of President of Nigeria.
“Yes, we achieved the goal of putting numbers of legislators in both chambers, respectively, of the National Assembly to guarantee the APC those critical majorities needed to align in synergy with Mr. President and push the party’s developmental agenda.
“Yes, the governorship and state assembly elections are just days away. And we are certain of continuing on the victory path carved out by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This most worthy politician of our time is our lucky charm, amplifying our hustings on the campaign trail for Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the amiable and very likeable BOS, and the APC’s candidates for the state legislature.”
The SSPUF APC Lagos Central Senatorial District Coordinator disclosed that the postponement of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections from the earlier scheduled date of Saturday, March 11, 2023, to Saturday, March 18, 2023, simply provided additional time to drive the group’s campaign train to greater lengths and breadths.
“On behalf of the SSPUF APC, yet again, I passionately appeal to all registered voters in possession of their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and eligible to cast their votes in Lagos State to troop out en masse to help reelect Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, in order to have him continue in his flow of good works,” Njowusi said.
He added: “The SSPUF APC is also appealing to the electorate in Lagos State to vote overwhelmingly for the APC candidates into the State House of Assembly elections. The party must continue retaining control of the next state legislature to be inaugurated in order to have the proper interface between the three arms of government that will enable the Executive, as represented by the Governor, continue on the track of driving the robust and seamless governance that Lagos State requires to sustain the humongous developmental strides.
“In this regard, we pledge our unalloyed support for the reelection bid of the APC Lagos State House of Assembly Candidate for Apapa Constituency One, Princess Mojisola Meranda, a ranking member, whose sojourn at the legislature has been of immense value in driving responsible and responsive governmental matters in the state in particular and Nigeria in general.
“We seek a continuation of the sterling performance of the Princess at the State House of Assembly, even as we repose implicit confidence in her capacity to fit in perfectly into whatever other offices, elective or non-elective, that come her way in the future. A vote for Princess Mojisola Meranda is a vote for a true woman of substance. A vote for Princess Mojisola Meranda is a vote for one of the rare breeds of true glass ceiling breakers in value-addition, and not for mere cosmetic posturing.

“Without a shadow of doubt, His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has, indeed, been excellent in delivering service to the good people of Lagos State, without bias or discrimination whatsoever.
“A true cosmopolitan in words and actions, Governor Sanwo-Olu runs an all-inclusive administration that is sensitive to the broad spectrum and sensibly caters to the demographics defining the veritable potpourri of peoples that have for ages been part of Lagos and will remain so in the foreseeable future and further down the line.
“I declare with every sense of responsibility that it is a source of immeasurable joy for every South-Southerner, irrespective of political or any other affiliations, that Governor Sanwo-Olu, as part of his administration’s numerous development-driven decisions, picked an illustrious Scion of the South-South, Mr. Samuel Avwerosuo Egube, as the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Lagos State. It is an appointment well merited; and the Commissioner has been most positively impactful in his superintending the crucial Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget as a trusted appointee of the Governor, who is unabashedly keyed into infrastructural and human capacity development.
“The South-South truly appreciates Mr. Sanwo-Olu for the appointment of Mr. Egube, who the SSPUF APC is highly honoured to have as the Lagos State Apex Leader. We eagerly look forward to having our beloved brother reappointed in the second tenure of Governor Sanwo-Olu. We are most grateful to His Excellency for other appointees from the South-South who are serving in his administration. We are also quite expectant of additional numbers of fresh appointees of South-South extraction joining our brothers and sisters already in the employ of the Lagos State when Governor Sanwo-Olu secures his much-needed second term,” Njowusi said.
He added: “Therefore, those of us of South-South Nigeria extraction, who have pitched our tents with the APC, unhesitatingly and wholeheartedly, endorse Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, our beloved BOS, for another term and an uninterrupted continuation of of His Excellency’s success story of efficiently piloting the affairs of the Mega City.
“I have the unanimous mandate of the SSPUF APC to muster all South-Southerners under the banner of ensuring a landslide victory for Governor Sanwo-Olu in next Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Lagos State.

According to the SSPUFAPC chieftain, Lagos is a melting pot that tolerates an accommodates all who mean well for her development and progress.
The Edo State indigene, i.e Hon. Gibraltar Njowusi, who is the incumbent Secretary to the Apapa Local Government, declared that the Council Chairman, Hon. Idowu Sebanjo, had graciously granted him the opportunity and privilege to serve, all in the spirit of home-for-all essence of Lagos that has found particular great currency under the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
Njowusi explained that the appointment has positioned him as a long-term resident of Apapa, who is very familiar with the neighbourhood, to make hands-on contributions, which he described as his “modest quota”, to promoting strategic developmental efforts in the Ports City Council in particular, and Lagos State and the larger Nigerian society in general through the third tier of government.
