Reno Omokri, a former presidential adviser, has said that the issue of President-elect Bola Tinubu’s Guinean citizenship is an intentional ploy to distract attention away from his whereabouts.
According to reports, the social-political activist made the assertions on Facebook as he expressed concern about the former governor of Lagos State’s location.
In March, Tinubu’s media office, Tunde Rahman, published a statement saying Tinubu would fly to France to organize his transition strategy.
However, his prolonged absence from the country has prompted opposition parties to inquire into his whereabouts.
Reno complained that Tinubu had not made any public appearances in the recent month and said Nigerians should not be distracted by the Guinea passport issue.
Reno stated that anyone with proof of dual citizenship should go to court, and Nigerians should focus on Tinubu’s location.
He went on to say that Tinubu’s staff may have purposely leaked the passport to keep Nigerians guessing about his location.
“Where is Tinubu?” he wondered. He hasn’t been seen out in public in over a month. That is the question we must ask.
“Let’s not get sidetracked by passports.” If you have such evidence, take it to court rather than posting it on social media. Tinubu’s location should be the focus of social media right now!
“I suspect Tinubu’s people deliberately leaked the passport to divert attention away from any questions about his whereabouts.”
“It is a red herring.” They are well aware that it will not stand up in court. However, it has served its intended purpose. Distraction! So, once again, I ask, “Where is Tinubu?”
