Lionel Messi, the Argentine superstar, has been offered €400 million per year by Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal.
This was verified by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Tuesday night.
Messi’s annual compensation is said to be more than $438 million, according to him.
Messi, on the other hand, is said to want to continue his career in Europe, with Barcelona waiting for Financial Fair Play to make a move.
“Understand Al Hilal sent an official bid to Leo Messi: salary worth more than €400m/year,” Romano tweeted.
“Leo’s top priority is to stay in Europe.” Barcelona is awaiting the FFP’s offer and the start of negotiations.
“PSG bid was rejected at this stage because Messi demanded sporting guarantees.”
If Messi accepts the Al Hilal offer, he will renew his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo, who already has 10 league goals for Al Nassr.
