EPL: Pochettino reveals stance on becoming the next Chelsea manager

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is not interested in taking over at Stamford Bridge because he is waiting for the top position at Real Madrid.

The Argentine has expressed little enthusiasm in succeeding Graham Potter, who was fired on Sunday night.

Potter was shown the departure door at Stamford Bridge less than seven months after joining Chelsea from Brighton.

Concerns were raised following the Blues’ 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, which dropped them to the bottom half of the standings.

The search for a new manager has begun in earnest, with former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann among those named.

After being fired by Bayern just over a week ago, Nagelsmann is said to be in no rush to make a choice on his future.

As a result, former PSG manager Pochettino is the next favorite, but he is also widely expected to succeed Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

However, according to TYC Sports via talkSPORT, the Argentine will not take a position with any English club because he wants to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid if and when he leaves.

Chelsea has also been connected with ex-Spain manager Luis Enrique, Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner, and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim.
