Ganduje blames Kwankwasiya for 2027 presidential campaign posters

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, has dissociated himself from the viral poster indicating his presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 election.

The poster, which has the image of the former Kano governor as the APC presidential candidate and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as his running mate, was captioned, “The Winning Team 2027. Vote APC 2027.”

But in a statement on Sunday by his spokesman, Edwin Olofu, the APC Chairman described the posters as the handiwork of the Kwankwassiyya movement belonging to ex-Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

While describing it as a malicious piece of fake news, the APC national chairman denied nursing such ambition, which he said was created to cause a rift between him and President Bola Tinubu.

He said, “This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, is contesting for the Presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news.

“The All Progressives Congress wishes to categorically state that this is the work of mischief-makers, likely in collaboration with certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, who are determined to create disaffection between Dr. Ganduje and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje remains unwaveringly loyal to President Tinubu and is fully committed to supporting the President’s vision and leadership. Dr. Ganduje believes that President Tinubu is on the right trajectory to steer Nigeria towards greater prosperity and unity.”
