On Thursday morning, suspected herdsmen reportedly invaded one of Oyo State’s public secondary schools, injuring students and teachers.
According to accounts, the herders stormed the Alaropo Nla Community Grammar School in the state’s Oriire Local Government Area.
According to eyewitnesses, over twenty herders reportedly invaded the school with their cattle and injured some of the students and instructors.
Some of the students and instructors, including Mr. Paul Olabode, were cut with swords and machetes, while many others suffered broken legs and hands.
According to the source, the herdsmen invaded the school farm with their cows grazing mindlessly on crops after the school had just completed morning devotion and students were preparing to settle down in their classrooms to resume their second-term examination.
Efforts by students and instructors to drive away the herdsmen were greeted with fierce opposition.
Mrs. Grace Alamu, the school principal, confirmed the event to Vanguard over the phone and said it had been reported to the police.
