The Certificate of Return was presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Kano State Governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian Peoples Party. (NNPP).
In the March 18 governorship race, Yusuf defeated Nasir Gawuna of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Professor Abdullahi Zuru, INEC National Commissioner, and Ambassador Abdu Zango, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), presented the certificate to Yusuf at the Commission’s main office in Kano.
INEC officials also distributed certificates of return to the State House of Assembly members-elect and the Deputy Governor-elect.
The state Chairman of the NNPP, Haruna Umar Doguwa, a party chieftain, Shehu Sagagi, and other party leaders were present at the event on Wednesday.
