The Police Service Commission (PSC) has given its approval for the appointment of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani revealed this in a statement made on Tuesday in Abuja.
He named the CPs as Mohammed Gumel of Kano State, Haruna Garba of the Federal Capital Territory, Tajudeen Abass of Delta, Oladimeji Olarewaju of Ogun, Taiwo Jesubiyi of Ondo State, and Julius Okoro of Benue.
Others are Romokere Ibiani of Bayelsa, Mohammed Bunu of Yobe, Garba Yusuf of Kaduna, Garba Ahmed of Zamfara, Hayatu Ali of Sokoto, and Aliyu Musa of Katsina.
Mr Ani stated that the chairman of the PSC, Solomon Arase, had urged the newly appointed CPs to be more dedicated to their duties.
He stated that the new posting was created to encourage greater commitment, innovation, and loyalty to the Nigerian nation.
The PSC chairman asked the CPs to prepare for duty and settle in as soon as possible ahead of the national transition phase.
