The Kwara State Government has approved the reopening of the Kwara State Polytechnic from Monday, March 2, 2026.
The state government approved that the polytechnic management should reopen the institution which was closed down as a result of the students protest few weeks ago.
The government approval for reopening of the institution was contained in an internal memo signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Halima Garba on behalf of the Registrar.
According to the memo issued by the office of the Acting Registrar dated 26th February 2026 obtained by our correspondent, the institution is to re-open for academic programmes on Tuesday, March 2nd,2026.
The memo titled, “Reopening of the Polytechnic for Academic and Administrative work” said, “the management of the Polytechnic wishes to formally inform the Polytechnic community that the Kwara state government has approved the reopening of the Polytechnic for academic and administrative work.
“In line with the directive, the Polytechnic will resume on Monday, March 2nd,2026.
“All staff and Students are therefore urged to adhere to the directive and resume back promptly on the stated date.
“The management appreciates both staff and Students for their cooperation and understanding during the period of the closure and looks forward to a productive and successful completion of the first semester 2025/2026academic session.”
