Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, has delivered an important update on Lionel Messi’s likely return to Barcelona.
Messi’s departure from PSG for Barcelona has become a hot subject in Europe in recent months.
According to recent rumours, Barcelona is now willing to implement a squad-wide wage cut to permit the return of their great.
Romano stated that the Catalans are willing to consider all options in order to sign their former captain.
The football transfer expert explained that it is possible that the Catalan giants are willing to make sacrifices in order to bring their best player back to Camp Nou, but he is not convinced by the reported squad salary cut as of now, adding that “it’d be a long process and not something easy, so we have to see what they decide to do.”
“For sure, the club will look at possibilities in order to make a bid for Messi, but a lot will depend on Financial Fair Play,” he told Caught Offside.
“It’s no secret that they’re struggling financially, and Messi’s presence could give them a much-needed boost in sponsorships and investments.”
