In a move to engage and empower young Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu, Vice President, Kashim Shettima, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, will from September 3rd to 5th, 2024, host young Nigerians from across the country.
The event, Progressive Young Leaders Summit, is organised to bridge the gap between youth and government, foster intergenerational dialogue, and provide a platform for young Nigerians to actively engage with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
The programme will feature a series of Ministerial Town Hall sessions where participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with government leaders on critical issues such as education, technology, economic development, and institutional reforms, with a focus on integrating actionable solutions into the administration’s policy frameworks.
Vice President Shettina will declare the three days event open while President Tinubu, who is expected to receive the communique of the summit, will give a keynote.
This year’s summit, themed: “Shaping the Future We Want: from Restiveness to Inclusion, Action and Development,” is dedicated to channelling the energy and aspirations of young Nigerians towards building a future that embodies their collective dreams.
Organized by the Office of the APC National Youth Leader, the summit will convene a distinguished gathering of Nigerian public and private sector leaders, government officials, policymakers, and dynamic young executives.
According to Dr. Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, the event is a crucial step in ensuring that the voices of young Nigerians are not only heard but also play a vital role in shaping the nation’s development agenda, stressing that President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima’s personal involvement underscores their unwavering commitment to youth inclusion and empowerment.
“By tapping into the passion and innovative spirit of young Nigerians, this summit aims to shape a new Nigeria that truly reflects the aspirations of the next generation. We believe this event will inspire young people to take ownership of the Renewed Hope Agenda and work collectively towards its realization.
“This summit is designed to ensure that young Nigerians are not just observers but active contributors to the formation of a new Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda. By the end of the Summit, it is expected that young leaders will be empowered to take concrete steps towards realizing the Nigeria of our dreams,” Dr. Israel concluded.
While the event is free to attend, registration is mandatory, with over 3,000 participants expected from across the nation.
