On Tuesday, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) operatives rescued 10 critically injured accident victims at the Adeniji Adele intersection inward Obalende by the 3rd Mainland Bridge, Lagos.

According to LASTMA’s spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, the road crash occurred when a commercial Mazda bus with registration number IKJ 969 YA lost control as a result of overspeeding and somersaulted, leaving 10 passengers with serious injuries.

Rescuers lead by Lastma Adejunwon Olalekan (Bravo 1) extracted all injured passengers from the bus and took them to Marina Medical Hospital for prompt medical attention.

In addition, the commercial Mazda bus that was involved in the accident was immediately removed from the road to avoid hindering traffic flow and transferred to the Adeniji Adele Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation.

“The Special Adviser on Transportation to the Governor, Hon. Sola Giwa however warned motorists particularly commercial bus drivers to stop over speeding, and always ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before driving them on Lagos roads”, the statement added.
