The Rivers State House of Assembly has rejected four commissioner nominees submitted by Siminalayi Fubara.The nominees were screened by lawmakers on Monday during a plenary session at the Assembly complex in Port Harcourt.
Five Nominees Confirmed
Following the screening exercise, the Assembly confirmed five of the nominees presented by the governor.
Professor Temple Nwofor
Dr Peters Nwagor
Lekue Kenneth
Sir Amairigha Edward Hart
Four Nominees Rejected
However, the lawmakers declined to confirm four of the nominees.
Those rejected are:
Professor Datonye Alasia
Mrs Charity Deemua
Tamuno Williams
Otonye TKD Amachree
Recall that on February 19, the Rivers Assembly suspended impeachment proceedings against Fubara, following President Tinubu’s intervention after a long tussle that included the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
