An accident which occurred today, March 24, 2026, has reportedly claimed several lives, leaving others injured in Ibadan.
It was learnt that the incident reportedly occurred at Oja’ba to Béèrè roundabout in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
NewsRegion gathered that the truck suffered brake failure, causing it to ram into several public transport vehicles.
In a circulating video online, some sympathisers who gathered at the scene of the accident were seen crying profusely, while others stood to watch.
As of the time of writing this report, there is no detailed number of casualties yet, nor is there confirmation from the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA)
Accidents are increasing on many roads in Nigeria, often resulting in deaths and injuries. Some stakeholders have blamed the recurrence on poor driver training, while others have blamed it on poor government regulation.
