DSS Sounds Alarm About Alleged Plots To Disrupt Nigeria’s Peace

The Department of State Service (DSS) has issued a security alert, warning the public of alleged plots to violently disrupt the country’s tranquility.

While it failed to mention those behind the alleged disruptive plots, Nigeria’s secret police, did, however, issue a warning to those behind the preparations to stop or risk being consumed by the violence they were plotting.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS was emphatic that it would not allow a situation in which individuals and/or organisations take laws into their own hands and champion anarchy.

“Those who use fake news, hate speech, and other forms of false narratives to incite violence or pit the public against current or incoming administrations at the Federal, state, and parliamentary levels should stop immediately,” the DSS stated, adding: “Those who incite violence have nothing to gain because doing so will consume them as well as the innocent.”

It stated it was bothersome to watch respected figures allegedly utilise their platforms to mislead or provoke citizens.

“This, to say the least, does not bode well for peaceful coexistence and general order,” according to the DSS.

Stressing that it would continue to take the necessary steps to keep those who do not wish the country well at bay, the DSS stated: “This is to ensure that citizens and residents have a safe environment in which to conduct legitimate businesses.

“They say that a stitch in time saves nine.

“Let everyone be guided.”
