FG Approves N15 Billion For ICT Devices for 2023 Census

The Federal Government has authorized two contracts totaling N15.3 billion for the supply and installation of information and communication technology (ICT) devices for the 2023 population and housing census, which is scheduled to take place from May 3 to 5.

The sum was gathered to be for the supply and installation of ICT devices for the census activity.

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, informed State House Correspondents of the development soon after this week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Shehu stated that the NPC’s ICT component was granted N10.9 billion, while another N4.4 billion was approved for the creation and implementation of a mobile device management solution for the exercise’s personnel digital assistance devices.

“Among the memos approved today was the contract for the supply and installation of information and communication technology components for the 2023 population census,” he said.

“The contract for the ICT component was awarded for approximately N10.9 billion.”

“Another contract approved for the National Population Commission was one for the development and implementation of a mobile device management solution for personnel digital assistance devices used in the 2023 population census.” This is the total of about N4.4 billion.”
