Abiodun Oladapo, 43, was detained by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Ogun State after his daughter, 19, became pregnant.
Following a complaint made by one Oluwatoyin Idowu at the Mowe Divisional Headquarters, the suspect was apprehended on Friday.
Idowu stated that she had properly questioned her son, Michael Idowu, who had been falsely accused of having an unwanted pregnancy and had found that the victim was not telling the truth.
The victim (name withheld), who is five months pregnant, was invited in response to the report, and when she arrived at the station, she told the police that although Michael Idowu had slept with her in December 2022, her father Abiodun Oladapo was actually the one who had caused her pregnancy.
She continued by saying that her father had been having affairs with her since February 2022 and had threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
The victim claims that when her father learned she was pregnant, he asked her to fabricate Michael Idowu’s involvement in causing the pregnancy.
Following her admission, (Mowe) Divisional Police Officer Mowe, Superintendent of Police Folake Afeniforo, assigned detectives to track down the rogue father, who was later detained.
The suspect admitted to the crime during questioning but put the blame on the devil.
