Politicians’ talks about forming an interim administration have been condemned by the House of Representatives.
The condemnation was released on Tuesday, following the passage of a motion of urgent public importance proposed by Unyime Idem, an Akwa-Ibom Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker.
The DSS had previously stated in a statement that Nigerians should consider the threat of interim government seriously.
President-elect Bola Tinubu is set to be ushered in on May 29, but those unhappy with the election results have expressed their displeasure.
While introducing the resolution, Mr Unyime stated that politicians are encouraging dissatisfied citizens to seek “unconstitutional intervention.”
He called the interim administration undemocratic, unconstitutional, and unconstitutional under Nigerian law.
Sergius Ogun requested that the SSS arrest conspirators involved in the plan to impose an interim government on Nigeria in his contribution.
“For good reasons, understand that when they mention this—the situation we have found ourselves in, we must talk to ourselves to ensure the right thing is done,” he said.
As a result, the House directed security services to be on high alert in order to prevent a breakdown in law and order.
