Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate for 2023, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for apologizing to Nigerians who have been affected by his acts or policies and urging them to forgive him.
According to Naija News, President Buhari requested Nigerians who were deeply upset by his acts to forgive him since “we are all humans.”
Buhari made the remarks at the Presidential Villa in Abuja during the Sallah homage by people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), led by FCT Minister Mohammed Bello.
President Buhari also regarded himself as a fortunate man for having served Nigeria in various positions as a governor, minister, head of state, and now President.
But, in a post on his Twitter account on Friday, Sowore reacted to Buhari’s speech by saying that his administration’s objectives and policies not only harmed Nigeria, but also dehumanized its population.
According to the presidential candidate, Buhari has denied Nigerians a good living as well as an opportunity to live and thrive.
He went on to say that Buhari ruined businesses, killed innocent people, wrecked the education sector, and denied the sick and infirm the opportunity to be nursed back to health.
Sowore, on the other hand, claims that the President’s damaged and shattered souls, lives, and possibilities will continue to chase and haunt him till the end of time.
“President @mbuhari, you didn’t just hurt Nigeria, you dehumanised its citizens, you denied Nigerians a decent life, you denied children, women, men -old and young- an opportunity to live and thrive,” he said.
“You destroyed businesses, took innocent lives, destroyed the educational sector, and denied the sick and infirm the chance to be nursed back to health.” You wrongfully detained and imprisoned countless people. You incited violence in places where you couldn’t carry it out personally. You sowed discord via religious bigotry and ethnic prejudice.
“You, your family members, cronies, and members of your cabal committed unspeakable corruption.” You took Nigeria back in time to the Stone Age!
“Your tenure, and the souls you ruined, lives you squandered, and opportunities you squandered, will hunt and haunt you until the end of time!”
